LAVA was born out of real-world production.Our products are designed by working creatives who understand what happens when you're loading a car at 5 AM, moving gear through a location, setting up in an unfamiliar space, or trying to get a shot while twenty other things are happening around you.

We've spent plenty of time dealing with oversized equipment, awkward setups, unnecessary hardware, and gear that looks good on a spec sheet but doesn't make much sense on an actual set.

So we started making our own.

The goal isn't to reinvent things just for the sake of it.

It's to make them better.

From Carts to Camera & Set Tools

LAVA started with a simple idea: make production carts more capable without making them bigger, heavier, or harder to transport.

That led to the development of our modular cart systems and work surfaces, designed around Rock-N-Roller Multi-Carts®.

But the idea quickly grew beyond carts.

We realized there were a lot of other pieces of production equipment that could be rethought in the same way.

LavaFlats are one example: a full-size 4×8 light-control panel that packs down dramatically smaller than a traditional V-flat.

And we're not stopping there.

We're building a growing collection of camera and set tools designed to make professional production more portable, efficient, and manageable.

Small Batch. Thoughtfully Made.

We're a small company based in New York State.

We design and develop our products in-house and produce in small batches rather than trying to make thousands of units before we've had a chance to see how they perform in the real world.

That allows us to refine things, listen to customers, and make improvements as we go.It's not always the fastest way to build a product.

But we think it's the right way.
